Review: Good coverage but good luck finding a (good) denti
Humana has been very good in terms of the coverage offered, but good luck finding a good dentist who takes Humana! I have spent hours and hours researching dentists; I went through a list of about 30 dentists who had been recommended to me by friends and co-workers. None accept Humana. I researched dr ratings for those in the plan and the findings were less than inspiring. When I finally did settle on one his practiced was so rushed (perhaps to make up for the low payments from Humana) that he did work on several occassions that had to be redone. I have left him and humana.

Review: Extremely limited network of dentists
The lists of dentists is extremely limited and restricted to 2 store front clinics 25-40 miles away. These clinics only treat low income and welfare clients, both dental and medical, in the same building.

Review: Scam
Humana Dental scammed us! I am certainly not new to using dental insurance. My husband became self-employed and we were looking for a private insurance company that had a low deductible and high coverage. I was sold a policy for a reasonable rate and was told it would be effective the first of the following month. When we went to actually use the policy at the dentist from their provider list, we were told the procedure (a tooth extraction) would not be covered because the dentist(s) on their list did not provide that service. When asked if they could provide us a list of who would do an extraction, we were informed we could cancel our policy within thirty days to get a full refund. When we did cancel, we not only did not receive a full refund, we were told we would only receive the premium amount, not the initial registration fee. When we did not receive that amount, we were then told that we would not receive any refund. We then received a letter trying to collect on the following months' amounts. So, no we have no insurance, no refund, and now they are trying to say we owe them. And my husband still needs his tooth pulled. I asked all the "right" questions and was flat out lied to.
