| Review: | Just Say No. Needed old filling replacement on tooth near front and not even asked whether I wanted resin or amalgam due to location of tooth and fact that my insurance plan covers 80% towards amalgam fillings. My Reliance Standard plan covers 80% of amalgam, but covered nothing on resin. Asked whether they would cover 80% of costs of amalgam (the lower of the two costs) to apply towards resin. The answer was NO, even though this is standard procedure with every other insurance company I ever had previously. They also said resin was the only choice given the tooth location when I replied that maybe I should have been asked by dentist so I could have chosen amalgam. My dentist is as surprised by this as I. The bottom line-Reliance got a free ride. They said I should have gotten resin, they only pay towards amalgam, so my dental insurance serves no purpose on fillings or replacements on front teeth. Sounds like a plan to me. |
